After three fail election systems, with no hope for Israel's social and political future, a group of educated elitists took command and founded SOFISTAN, a monarchy of wisdom. with the understanding that democracy is a poor model for a society of fools and neglected, the elite fulfilled Plato's vision of the philosophers king, and founded a monarchy ruled by themselves. Sofistan, "beard kingdom", is an improved version of Israel, where education and wisdom is the top main values but with the important understanding that the fatal decisions of running a country is not for the people, but for the educated.
One of Sofistan's main events is the “No Elections Festival”. Celebrated once in four years, the festival celebrates the current monarchy, and there are many fun events for the fools, and lectures and debates for the educated. The people can decide if they want to hear a lecture about critical thinking or maybe go to a big mud fight ring in the old Knesset (the historical Israeli parliament).
In addition, throughout the entire state you can vote in the elections for the questions that always buttered us- Shiri or Ninet, Nutella spread or Hashachar, beach or either a pool and so on. These elections remind us one of the base statements of Sofistan- the people should decide only on popular manners, and the big social political and economical manners we should leave for the experts and educated.
The state symbol is an owl with beard, and two branches of olive, a small remnant from the state of Israel.
